Ndogbe Sprout was born out of a pressing need to address the significant post-harvest losses faced by smallholder farmers in Ghana. In 2019, our founder, after years in the advertising industry, decided to pursue a passion for farming by starting a 20-acre maize farm. Despite a bumper harvest, the joy was short-lived as a significant portion of the corn began to spoil due to inadequate drying methods.

Determined to find a solution, we discovered an open-source technology and collaborated with local welders to develop the first prototype of a mobile corn dryer in West Africa. This innovative dryer can dry half a ton of corn in just 3 hours, extending the shelf life of corn to up to two years. Since then, Ndogbe Sprout has grown into a community-driven initiative that has reduced post-harvest losses by up to 30% in several villages, impacting the lives of over 500 farmers.
